Back to Second Corinthians

We're returning to our series in 2 Corinthians, picking up where we left up. In this passage, Paul starts talking about giving, but does so from the perspective of showing the example of some other churches, as well as talking about the importance of finishing what we start.

Prayer, unity, and being a Super Christian

Due to illness last week, I forgot to get the previous sermon posted, so here's two week's worth. This will probably conclude our little rabbit trail of messages about the times we live in, at least for now. Enjoy!

How Do We Prepare?

In a continuation of last week's sermon, I wanted to further explore the idea of preparing for the times that are ahead of us. It would seem that our nation and our culture continue to accelerate in their path away from anything resembling biblical truth. How are we supposed to respond to that?

In Times Like These

Stop the presses! I'm actually posting a sermon in a timely fashion!

Anyway, this message really isn't a sermon as much as stuff that I just can't get out of my head lately. I apologize for how quiet the discussion is at the end, we're really not able to record the voices very well out in the room, but hopefully you can still get the gist of what's going on.

Easter and more...

With strange weather and some vacation time, there are a few weeks I don't have anything recorded. But, here's two recent messages that cover our partnership with Village Missions, as well as the sermon from Easter Sunday, 2013.

Separation and Compassion

I'm not sure exactly why I seem to be posting every other week. I'll try to get that sorted out. But, for now, here's the last two messages from 2 Corinthians. In the end of chapter 6, we deal with the passage and context of Paul telling the Corinthians not to be unequally yoked. And then, in chapter 7, Paul writes about repentance, but also of his confidence in the church at Corinth. There are many lessons we can take from that, since we all fall short, as did they.

Paul, reconciliation, and authenticity

In the end of chapter 5 and the beginning of chapter 6 in 2 Corinthians, Paul is all about trying to lay out the reality of how God reaches out to us through Jesus Christ. This is one of the most important theological points in 2 Corinthians, and understanding reconciliation is incredibly important in shaping our Christian life. Paul takes that idea as well, explaining how God has used him in ways that are unexpected, but real, in terms of his experience as an ambassador of the Gospel.
